Herd Out privacy policy.

What the game collects, why, and the choices you have.

Last updated

This privacy policy explains what information Herd Out (the game) collects, how RedFoxApps (we, us) uses it, and the choices you have. Herd Out is in testing and this policy describes how the current version works. We will update it before any change that affects your information, such as adding ads or purchases. We publish it at a permanent address so app stores and players can always find it.

Who we are

Herd Out is published by RedFoxApps. For anything in this policy, contact us at [email protected].

Your choice

When you first open the game we ask whether we may collect anonymous play data. Nothing is collected until you tap Accept. If you tap No thanks, the game works the same and nothing is collected. You can change your mind at any time with Privacy choices at the bottom of the home screen. Turning sharing off stops collection from then on.

Information we collect (only if you accept)

  • Play data. Which levels you start, clear, fail or leave, how long each attempt takes, how many hearts you had left, and how long each session lasts.
  • Device data. Device model, operating system and version, game version, language, and your approximate country, which can be worked out from your IP address.
  • Identifiers. A random identifier for your installation, such as the identifier for vendors on iPhone or a device identifier on Android. It is not your name, email address or phone number.
  • Crash and error reports. Technical details when the game runs into an error.

There are no accounts in the game. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location. This version of the game shows no ads and has no in-app purchases. We do not use any identifier to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Who processes it

We use GameAnalytics, an analytics service, to receive this data and report it to us. GameAnalytics processes it on our behalf and may process it in countries other than yours. Its own privacy policy explains how it handles data. We do not sell personal information.

What stays on your device

Your progress (current level and stars) and your settings (music, effects and your privacy choice) are saved only on your device. If you delete the game, they are lost.

Reminder notifications

The game may ask for permission to show notifications. If you allow it, the game schedules reminders on your device for when you have not played for a day, two days and a week. Your device creates and shows them. No information is sent to us or anyone else to do this. Opening the game restarts the reminders, and you can turn them off at any time in your device settings.

How we use information

  • To keep the game working and fix bugs.
  • To understand how far players get, how long levels take and how many players come back, so we can improve the levels and their difficulty.
  • To answer support requests.
  • To meet legal obligations.

Children

The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

How long we keep data

We keep play data only as long as we need it to improve the game, then delete or anonymise it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information, or to object to its use. Because the data we collect is anonymous, we may not be able to find the records of one particular player, but email us and we will do what we can and respond.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the date at the top of the page.
