Marigold privacy policy.
What the app collects, why, and the choices you have.
This privacy policy explains what information Marigold (the app) collects, how RedFoxApps (we, us) uses it, and the choices you have. We publish it at a permanent address so app stores and users can always find it.
The short version
- The health information you log stays on your phone. We have no account system and no server that receives it.
- We never sell your personal information, never show ads, and never use data for advertising.
- Usage analytics and crash reports are off unless you opt in, and they never contain your health entries.
- You can delete everything in the app at any time.
Who we are
Marigold is published by RedFoxApps. For anything in this policy, contact us at [email protected].
Information we collect
- Data that stays on your device. Period dates, flow, pain, mood, energy, sleep, discharge, medication, notes, symptoms, test results, pregnancy information, reminders, settings and your answers during setup. It is stored in an encrypted database on your phone, and the key is kept in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore. We never receive it.
- Usage analytics (only if you opt in). If you choose "Help improve Marigold", we use Google Analytics for Firebase to count events such as opening the app or creating a report. Events never contain dates, flow, symptoms, notes, test results or other health values. We turn off advertising IDs, Google signals and ad personalization, and we do not set a user ID.
- Crash reports (only if you opt in). Firebase Crashlytics receives technical details of a crash, such as device model, operating system version and app version. Reports never contain your health entries.
- Purchase data. If you buy Marigold Plus, the purchase is made through Google Play or the App Store. To check and restore it, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives a random anonymous app user ID, your purchase history for this app and technical details such as the app version, platform and store country. This is not linked to your name or email, and it includes no health information.
- Backup file. If backup is on, Marigold keeps one backup file in its app folder. Your phone's own backup (Google backup on Android, iCloud on iPhone) saves it to your Google or Apple account under their policies. Marigold does not upload it, and the file is not encrypted by Marigold.
- Messages you send us. If you contact support, we keep your message and email address to reply.
Marigold does not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts or photos. It does not use your advertising identifier. App lock uses your phone's own screen lock, and Marigold never sees your fingerprint, face or PIN.
How we use information
- To run the app, keep it working and show your predictions and insights on your device.
- To understand how the app is used and fix crashes, only if you opt in.
- To process, verify and restore Plus purchases.
- To answer support requests.
- To meet legal obligations.
Sharing with third parties
We use Google (Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics) for analytics and crash reporting if you opt in, RevenueCat for subscriptions, and the app stores for purchases. They process data on our behalf or under their own policies. If you share a doctor report or an export, it goes only to the app you choose, and we do not receive it. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Reminders and widgets
Reminders are scheduled on your phone and are not sent from a server. Widgets read your data on the device. If you turn on discreet reminders, notifications avoid cycle words on the lock screen.
Children
Marigold is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it. If you tell the app you are under 18, it hides some logging options.
How long we keep data
Data on your device stays until you delete it in the app or uninstall Marigold. Delete all data in More also removes the backup file from the app folder; copies already saved to your Google or Apple account are managed there. Analytics and crash data are kept for the shortest retention period we can set. Purchase records are kept as long as needed to restore your purchase and meet legal and tax obligations. Support messages are kept only as long as needed to help you.
Your choices and rights
You can turn analytics and crash reports on or off in More at any time, delete all your data in the app, export your data as CSV or a doctor report, and turn backup off. Depending on where you live, including under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act and Washington's My Health My Data Act, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information and to know who receives it. Because Marigold has no accounts and does not receive your health entries, we hold almost no information about you, but email us and we will help with any request, including purchase records held by our payment provider.
Not medical advice
Marigold is a wellness tracker. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat any condition.
