Before publishing a mobile game, confirm that the build is stable, the store listing is complete, the privacy policy and terms pages are live, analytics events are tracked, and a soft launch in a small set of markets is planned.
Build
- No crashes in a full play-through on low-end and current devices.
- The first session explains the game without a long tutorial.
- The game works offline where it is meant to, and fails gracefully where it is not.
Store listing
- Name, subtitle or short description, and keywords written for search. See the metadata limits.
- Icon, screenshots and a preview video that show real gameplay.
- A correct age rating from each store's questionnaire.
Legal pages
Both stores ask for a privacy policy link, and the stores' data disclosure forms must match what the game actually collects. Publish a privacy policy, terms and a support page at permanent addresses before you submit.
Analytics
- Track installs, first open, tutorial completion and the first purchase or ad view.
- Make sure retention can be read by day, not just in total.
- Test events on a real device before launch.
Soft launch
Release in a few smaller markets first. Read retention and monetisation, fix what the numbers show, then widen the release. Our publishing guide covers each stage.
